    Description

    This is a fine, hand-drawn (tulis) batik kain panjang (hip wrap) from Central Java - probably Solo.  The motif features various depictions of the mythological phoenix.  The fabric is Indonesian made cotton and the dyes are natural soga brown and indigo. Estimated age is about 50 years old.
    The dimensions are:  41 x 92 inches.
